Congratulations to Liane Varnes, 2010 winner of the Wilson-Clay/Hoover Mentoring Scholarship to the Hale/Hartmann Lactation Conference. Liane is shown pictured with renowned lactation researchers, Tom Hale, PhD (left) and Peter Hartmann, PhD. Liane lives in Cleveland, Georgia, and works as the only full-time, dedicated CLC/Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for Georgia WIC. She is a busy lady covering a 13-country district, where she counsels in clinics, homes, and via email, text, and phone. Liane is a 2010 IBCLC candidate, and also received a copy of The Breastfeeding Atlas to help her prepare for the exam. Kay and Barbara wish Liane great success on the exam and in her work.
